Next September we will be celebrating our 17th General Chapter with the theme "Steadfast in Contemplation, Passsionate in Mission"
The theme
We have kept in mind the current orientations of the Church as well as the 125th anniversary of the foundation of our Congregation. These events have suggested to us the theme that will take us to the roots of our Ignatian spirituality and the initial inspiration of our Mother Foundress, to facilitate us to face the challenges of our mission today. The theme is: “Steadfast in contemplation, passionate in mission”.
The logo
The Claverian missionary heart:The love of God burns in our hearts and it is this Love, contemplated and adored, which sends us to the mission and to which we “give” our whole life.
The heart recalls, in its stylized form, the “M” of “Mary”: we are “missionary disciples” with a Christological and Marian heart. Mary is the icon of the contemplative woman, who kept all these things in her heart” (Lk 2: 19-52) and who set off for Judea and her cousin to announce the Good News (Lk 1, 39).
The globe:Our life given to God at the service of the Missionary Church is called to embrace the whole world.
The colors:The colors represent the five continents, and indicate the universal horizon of our vocation and mission. We are women of the “heart without borders”.
The Icon and the Motto:
The icon that will guide us during this time is that of the Mary, who, after having listened to the Word of God brought by the Angel, contemplates its contents and sets off quickly, totally available for mission. She was driven by charity but also by the desire to communicate the good news. Mary, who from the encounter with God, 'goes out' towards her neighbour (cf. Lk 1: 26-38) becomes a model of contemplative listening to the Word, to live it in the mission entrusted to her by God.
In the same spirit we formulate our motto: “What we have contemplated concerning the Word of life (...) we also announce it to you (1 Jn 1: 2).
Please pray for us at this special time of preparation for our Chapter that in a spirit of profound gratitude for the 125 years of missionary service of the Congregation, we may entrust ourselves to the intercession of Our Lady of Good Counsel, of St. Peter Claver, and of the Blessed Mother Foundress so that we may live the preparation for this Chapter with renewed ardour and total docility to the Holy Spirit.
